The Grand Trials

Hiya guys!

Just in case anyone hasn't already seen this already, a couple of my buddies are running an art tournament called "The Grand Trials". For those of you who don't know what a tournament is, it's generally a competition between artists where they exchange turns drawing their invented characters interacting, usually fighting--- the idea being to sharpen your mad skillz, as it were.

In this case, however, the idea is survival with the characters being limited in supplies and skills that would otherwise allow them to escape the invented canyon environment.

For more information you can visit:

:icongrand-trials:

There are prizes being offered and more may be added to the pot. Again, you can see the list of prizes at the above link. There's free art, a comic and a submission and who knows what more might show up!

For those of you already in the know, who plans to participate? I've not seen a list of entrants anywhere?

THATH News

My followers already know, but for those who might read this journal casually, I'm working on a book series following the characters you see illustrated in my gallery. I've written two books, but am rewriting the first. I'm about half-way through! Yay! Let me tell you that rewriting a book you've already written and have had 120,000+ words of experience beforehand will certainly speed things up a bit! I really do look forward to finishing and beginning the (painful) journey to find an agent and get published so I can share with you all!

Also, the two year anniversary of THATH is almost a month away August 22nd and I am considering ways to celebrate it. Last year I did a three minute animatic and a week of daily requests. I'm very interested in ideas for this year if you care to share! It needs to be something challenging for me and rewarding for my followers who so patiently wait for these books.

awwww that was cute like that
what kind of personality does roamwald have
Personality, huh? Well, a complicated one! He's patient and hardworking, if a bit guarded and even closed minded at times. He loves to laugh and at the same time has a serious sense of noblesse oblige (meaning he feels a great deal of responsibility towards those around him). He's very at ease with himself, accustomed to spending very long periods of time alone with his flocks. He does miss dear people he's lost, but his "adoptive" family in Haventon certainly helps assuage those feelings, Jenni Fillers, responsible for having found him in the first place, often having a lot to do with that. She doesn't let anyone stay down for long, even a Westermann. A couple of saying that really encapsulate his personality would be "I do what needs to be done" and "I say what I mean and mean what I say".
